    MATE is a small collective of passionate and creative individuals. We value integrity, sustainability and fun. Our company is growing and evolving on a daily basis. We have recently and happily transitioned to in-house Wholesale Sales.

    MATE is searching for a driven, dedicated and goal oriented individual to join our team as our Sales + Operations Manager. You will be creating and implementing innovative wholesale initiatives to grow market share, and partnering with Product Team to develop and implement category strategies. Must have 5+ years of professional experience in a related apparel role. Bachelor's degree required. Must be based in Los Angeles. Please read the responsibilities and skill requirements below.

    Job Responsibilities:

    SALES/ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT:

    • Lead liaison for all Wholesale partnerships; West Coast, East Coast and INTL distribution
    • Cultivates and maintains key client relationships; strategically prospects new account opportunities
    • Analyze sales statistics to set seasonal, quarterly and annual goals
    • Drive a successful in-season re-order business as well as a key replenishment program
    • Responsible for screening and responding to all prospect accounts via Sales@matethelabel.com inquiries
    • Creatively conceptualize and execute branded activations and Tradeshows
    • Work alongside Marketing Team on creating and executing weekly sales email blasts
    • Collaborate with Production and Design Teams to insure best product development possible
    • As an extension of the MATE brand experience you will manage and execute well organized and strong product presentations and materials with sustainability in mind.
    ​OPERATIONS:
    • Manage orders from creation to completion; inputting all Purchase Orders into order management system (Quickbooks, Google Docs)
    • Process Accounts Receivable for all Wholesale Purchase Orders; collect deposits as needed
    • Responsible for obtaining and executing Account's Vendor Guidelines
    • Monitor in-season shipping in collaboration with logistics team to ensure cancellation deadlines are met and regularly provide shipping recaps to clients to manage inventory flow.
    • Weekly reporting and analysis

    Desired Skills:

    • Interest in sustainable fashion is a plus
    • High-touch Customer service
    • Experience with Tradestone, Quickbooks, Google Docs, ERP software is preferred
    • Photoshop/Illustrator experience is a plus
    • Branded copywriting skills a plus for email communication
    • Creative problem solver with strong attention to detail and ability to self-check work
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a keen ability to prioritize workload

    The Dress Clean internship program is focused on sustainability, transparency and education. Be immersed in our localized supply chain process, from cut + sew, dye, and screenprint factories. Assist in sustainability research, contribute to social campaigns, and present weekly ideas to the team in relation to findings. You will be responsible for spreading awareness on our Dress Clean initiative. This is an unpaid internship, for college credit.

    Dress Clean Internship - Job Responsibilities:

    • Sustainability fact pulling, copy write for social and web. ​
    • Assist in generating creative social outreach campaigns as a means to spread awareness of the Dress Clean initiative and MATE's sustainable, ethical, and environmental efforts.  (i.e. Plastic Free Week) 
    • Maintain an ongoing list and present sustainable organizations, certifications, influencers, shops and publications to align with to the team. 
    • Assist in research on new developments in sustainable standards and innovations in the industry. 

    Dress Clean Internship - Preferred Qualifications:

    • Is highly interested in and knowledgeable of sustainable apparel practices and environmental issues in the industry
    • Must be available 2-3 days/week. 3 Days is preferred. 
    • Highly organized and detail oriented, while fast and efficient
    • Critical thinker, proactive, and has a positive attitude
    • Must have a laptop and transportation
    • Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign experience a plus

    The Culture + Customer Experience Internship program is focused on building upon MATE's company culture and crafting a high-touch customer experience. Deep dive into the inner workings of a fast-paced small apparel business. Great for students interested in HR, event planning, or customer experience. This is an unpaid internship, for college credit.

    Culture + Customer Experience Internship - Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist in keeping our Arts District Showroom presentable and organized, while spreading good vibes.
    • Assist in building alignments and cultivate relationships with like-minded brands, philanthropic organizations, influencers, press, publications, and sustainable industry leaders
    • Present innovative ideas on how to improve our digital and IRL customer experience  
    • Assist in researching and developing a target event calendar - local events / pop-ups / brand alignments / women in business panels / sample sales / etc
    • Assist in planning and running said events
    • Evaluate, research, and suggest improvements to company operations and logistics
    • Develop and present ideas for team building activities aimed to keep employee's feelin' all the good feels

    Culture + Customer Experience Internship - Preferred Qualifications:

    • Highly organized and detail oriented, while still fast and efficient
    • Innovative, forward thinking, proactive, and has a positive attitude
    • Interested in the next generation of retail
    • Has interest and basic knowledge of sustainable lifestyle practices and environmental issues in the industry
    • Quick-witted copy write skills are a plus
    • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university + able to receive academic credit for the internship
    • Must have a laptop and transportation
    • Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign experience a plus

    Design + Production Internship - Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist with mood boards, design concepts, development, and pre-production
    • Responsible for working with tech packs
    • Assist with illustrator flats 
    • Assist in specing samples and be present in fittings
    • Organize and maintain fabric swatches and lab dip binders
    • Assist creative team with photo shoots and content creation

    Design + Production Internship - Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of fabric and garment construction required
    • Highly organized and detail oriented, while still fast and efficient
    • Innovative, forward thinking, proactive, and has a positive attitude
