I first tried the regular MATE leggings but they were too long as well as too high waisted for my short stature (5'3" 102 lbs). I love the Midi; once I received a pair in black, I knew I would want the "Pebble" color, which is an unusually nice, neutral that goes with a lot of things. They are still high waisted, but I realize they were not intended to be below the belly button, and they are flattering.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind if MATE offered petites in a few items, including the pocket legging and the relaxed sweat pants, both of which I had to return because they didn't fit/flatter my proportions.
The quality and feel of the organic cotton is great; not too thick, not too thin, nicely compressive.
